Success for Team UK at EuroSkills

​A team of young people from across the UK finished 9th in the medal table of 28 European Countires competing at EuroSkills.

On 1–3 December 2016, young people up to the age of 25 from all over Europe will meet in Gothenburg to compete for the European title in vocational skills. EuroSkills is Europe’s biggest skills competition and aims to improve the quality, status and attraction of vocational training.

Around 450 young people up to the age of 25 from about 30 different countries will be competing in:

  • Transportation and Logistics
  • Manufacturing and Engineering Technology
  • Construction and Building Technology
  • Creative Arts and Fashion
  • Information and Communication Technology
  • Social and Personal Services

Goals of EuroSkills 2016

  • To increase knowledge and awareness of future career paths
  • To stimulate interest in and raise the status of vocational training
  • To inspire and pass on knowledge to teaching staff and intermediaries
  • To set an example for sustainable skills competitions
